James Wan has staked out a place among the modern masters of horror, directing films like Saw, Dead Silence, Insidious, and this inspired-by-true-events chiller based on the experiences of real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren. The Warrens, best known for their work on the strange case that inspired the Amityville Horror movies (which played a part in The Conjuring 2), were portrayed by Patrick Wilson and Vera Farmiga, who grounded the effective jump scares and freak-out moments with a believable world-weariness. Together, Wan and his co-leads found fresh terror in familiar genre tropes, and the end result is a sprawling cinematic universe that only continues to grow.

Back when I was at school, Schwarzenegger was the biggest star around, and I have clear memories of how popular he was, with his movies being a constant source of chatter in and around lessons. When I found Jean-Claude Van Damme, simply through a process of renting (or rather getting my Dad to, as I was still technically underage) every new action movie released on video, it was a personal discovery that made it seem even more special. When we first met, it was all wonderful. An amazing feeling of connection and love I had yet to experience. As we started living together she complained about my friends coming over. All she wanted to do is smoke weed after she got done working and watch TV. The only movies/shows that were acceptable are shows/movies containing good looking ppl. I enjoyed a variety of tv from foreign to domestic. As long as the acting and story were good, I did not care. She would often be angry when my friends would come over, mostly ignoring them and making situations very awkward and uncomfortable. All she wanted to do is to be us two together, ALL THE TIME!
